Newt Gingrich announced today on Good Morning America, “I think right now that it is a great possibility,” Gingrich said. “I don’t want to get into all this stuff. I want to focus on what we have to do to make America successful.” He concluded that he would make a final decision on the race in September after his workshop on solutions.
In a recent interview with Focus on the Family founder James Dobson, Newt Gingrich has admitted to having an extramarital affair while serving as Speaker of the House and leading the charge against Bill Clinton and the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Although he has not officially announced his candidacy, he has recently been to Iowa and New Hampshire while ostensibly promoting his 2005 book, Winning the Future: A 21st Century Contract with America.
Does his recent confession mean that he is likely not going to run, or is he officially coming clean now in anticipation of what might surface if he were to once again enter the political spotlight.
