About Us

We are a group of young professionals and in early 2007, when sending emails back and forth about the first stages of the election, we realized that we should put our passion to good use, follow the election more closely, and why not blog about in in the process. Also have regular contributors bringing in different perspectives on the election.

About the Bloggers

  • gdancik – Currently a graduate student at Iowa State University in Ames, IA, though originally from New Jersey. Participated in the Iowa caucus in 2004, and hasn’t been the same since. Will try to cover as much of the political action in Iowa as possible.
  • rubyrigby – Alicia – Resides in the NYC metropolitan area, works in technology PR for a boutique firm in New York. She grew up in a very democratic household and felt cheated in the 2000 election and then disgraced in the 2004 election.
  • Trusso – I currently reside in NJ and work as a medical illustrator/ animator. No one ever knows what that is, so let me make this simple. I like biology; I like art…now put them together. I was raised in a democratic home in a Jersey suburb outside of New York City. I never really was interested in politics until I got the chance to vote in one of the most exciting and disappointing elections in history since I have been born! Or course I am talking about 2000! I am a democrat all the way, and a little bit of a feminist. I will be covering Senator Hillary Clinton.

About the Contributors

  • AllisonDC – Is an architectural draftsman/actor originally from NJ, now living & working in the DC Metro area. She grew up in a mildly Republican but politically indifferent household, completely believes in the need for electoral reform, and is a liberal with very strong Democratic leans.
  • jtg714 – Located in NNJ, is a Community Manager. Interested in the environment and supporting any cause that could ultimately save the world (think Jeff Goldblum in “Independence Day”).
  • mcheng – is a graduate student studying the strong nuclear force. In relation to this blog, I am most interested in how the structure of the United States’ electoral system (two-party system, primaries, and electoral college) influence candidates’ strategy. I am also interested in quantitative election predictors (polls, futures markets), and general voting systems.
  • Jayson – This liberal Michigander is a full-time student at Delta College. Growing up he always had taste for politics and worked on his first election, (2000) when he was in 6th grade. Currently, he holds a full-time job and is an active volunteer in his community. He is interested in issues such as health care, Iraq War, and jobs. He will cover a majority of the democratic candidates.
