In a recent interview with Focus on the Family founder James Dobson, Newt Gingrich has admitted to having an extramarital affair while serving as Speaker of the House and leading the charge against Bill Clinton and the Monica Lewinsky scandal. Although he has not officially announced his candidacy, he has recently been to Iowa and New Hampshire while ostensibly promoting his 2005 book, Winning the Future: A 21st Century Contract with America.
Does his recent confession mean that he is likely not going to run, or is he officially coming clean now in anticipation of what might surface if he were to once again enter the political spotlight.
